SYMPTOMS

The affected part of the body may become stiff (spastic paralysis), with occasional muscle spasms, floppy (flaccid paralysis) numb, painful or tingly
It may affect the face, the hands, one arm or leg (monoplegia), one side of the body (hemiplegia), both legs (paraplegia) both arms and legs (tetraplegia or quadriplegia)
Initial symptoms include - Severe headache, Impairment or loss of vision
Memory loss
Confusion
Loss of balance or co-ordination
Poor balance and dizziness
Sudden numbness, paralysis or weakness of an arm, leg or side of the face
Slurred or abnormal speech
Loss of consciousness
Incontinence
