Dear Dr. Harsh Sehgal,

Further to our telecon, please find below the status of my mother’s dementia.

Towards year 2004 end my mother started showing early signs of forgetting immediate things, like where she kept dress, keys, provisions in kitchen, attending the phone calls and then forgets immediately whom she has spoken to or forgetting to pass on the information to others etc. She was forgetting recent events more even though remembers all the past incidents or events.

These conditions persisted through year 2005 without much improvement and we have consulted with a Team of Doctors at Nimhans Bangalore in Jan 2006.

Her condition was diagnosed as Dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease.
She started taking prescribed medication, but her conditions did not improve at all.

On the contrary she was becoming more moody, generally lost interest in all activities and stopped preparing the food alone. Conversations with others became rare.

We have heard about Dr. Sehgal through an article in the Magazine “Life Positive” written by Mrs.Varma whose mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. We have contacted Mrs. Varma to know more about the treatment and the Doctor; she was very happy with the treatment and told us her mother’s condition remained stable and manageable until death even though she was at 2’nd or 3rd stage of the disease when the treatment started.

By Dec 2006 we have started the treatment prescribed by Dr.Sehgal and she is continuing the treatment till now. Also the allopathic medication was discontinued.

After the treatment started the main change we have observed is she became more enthusiastic about life, lively and started conversing more, now she talks about her forgetting the things, remembers recent events more and started preparing the food and writes shopping list alone.

So far we are very satisfied with the overall improvement of her condition and hope that this status can be maintained during the coming years through the treatment of Dr Sehgal.
